It was reported that some Korean fans have mistook an edited away production still, which was eventually not shown in the actual clip, as the ending of KBS drama “Boys Before Flowers“. Recently, a photo appeared on major Korean web portals, captioned “The ending of Boys Before Flowers”, showing Geum Jan Di and Goo Joon Pyo holding hands on the beach of New Caledonia. The production company have released a statement saying that this is just a cut away scene filmed at New Caledonia and not the ending of the drama. However, is this really the case?
I don’t have the clips of the previous episodes with me now, but if my memory serves me well, I’m 90% sure the production company is outright lying, same feeling as with the Korean fans. Whether in the end they choose this or not, this scene was likely to be one of the planned ending. And here’s why. Firstly, as you can see from the photo, Goo Joon Pyo (Lee Min Ho) is hanging a swimming goggle or snorkel around his neck. Wait isn’t he afraid of water? Secondly, you might be able to see vaguely that Geum Jan Di is wearing a necklace (probably can’t see the shape, likely to be the star necklace in episode 12). Did she have a necklace back then? Thirdly, correct me if I’m wrong, at that point of time, are both of them that close to be holding hand in such a blissful manner?
Based on these loopholes, fans have determined that this is indeed the final ending of the drama. Some fans even came out with their own plot, saying that under the help of Geum Jan Di, Goo Joon Pyo finally overcome his water phobia. As a reward, Goo Hye Sun received a necklace from Goo Joon Pyo (as akin to the Japanese version). But with episode 12, this plot is likely out.
Dramas like “What Happened in Bali?” and “Sorry I Love You” which have overseas scenes, will usually have their ending filmed overseas beforehand, which raises the suspicion by fans. Thus, fans have protested that since the ending is leaked, shouldn’t the team film another ending?
What the production company said was that this is just one of the edited scene and not part of the final ending, there are a total of 24 episodes for the drama and they have only the draft for the first 20 episodes. The final ending is still not determined yet.
Well, whether this is true or not, they will likely have to come out with a different ending, some place that doesn’t involve beaches.

To the production staff of BBF - if our assumptions are correct, we highly suggest that two versions of the ending be filmed. One will be a happy ending for JP & JD and the other one will be for Jihoo and JD. This way both fans of JP & JH will be satisfied - a double happy ending ... right!!!
To all the fans, may be we should come up with a petition for a "double happy ending." PLEASE!
