A war has been raging between Netizens and Cube Entertainment about his name. The complaint? AJ has the same name as AJ (Ace Junior) the youngest member of Paran. At first I refused to write about this nonsense because I thought it was a stupid issue to be fought over by crazy fan girls. But now that it has come to the point where AJ is actually changing his name, I will tell you about this cat fight.
When the complaint first arose AJ told the media that his name is his actual name, while AJ derived from Ace Junior. He furthermore concluded that since there is a singer called Park Ji Yoon and announcer named Park Ji Yoon, he too should be allowed to coexist with Ace Junior. After these comments, things escalated and Ace Junior wrote a comeback on his Cyworld in an incoherent engrish rant, followed up by some crazy Netizen made pictures.
Check it out.
Now finally after all of this Cube Entertainment officials have announced that they will change AJ's name in order to keep healthy relations with Paran fans.
Seriously? I was starting to respect Cube Entertainment, but to succumb to the will of crazed Netizen fan girls? In the words of 50 Cent (terrible rapper by the way) "if they hate, then let them hate and watch the money pile up". SM didn't succumb when fan girls of their own fan club were complaining about splitting up Super Junior and adding new members and SM watched their money pile grow after Super Junior M's successful crossover to China.
Will the crazy fan girls who made those pictures suddenly become fans of AJ after changing his name? No, they're still going to hate him. Cube Entertainment should follow SM's "I don't give a shit" tactic and realize that with or without Paran fans, AJ will still become just as successful as he would've been without changing his name.
Will 4 Minute change their group name because there's a song called "4 Minutes" by Madonna? No, because luckily, Cube Entertainment speaks engrish and doesn't know how to make nouns plural.
