Watch out for Teuk-kigayo on Strong Heart! Lee Teuk to take over Boom’s position

Boom’s empty position on SBS variety show Strong Heart will be taken over by Super Junior Lee Teuk.

The show has garnered a record high of 18% viewership rate in just 5 episodes into its first airing on 6th October. The show is known for its great guest appearance cast and also the regular cast on the show like Boom himself.

And with Boom currently in the army, the show will miss one star appearance. Park PD to the show said, “When we first planned about this show, we thought of Kang Ho Dong and Boom. Boom plays an important role on the show, bringing laughter while supporting both the MC and guest appearances.”

The corner of the show ‘Boomkigayo’ has been one of the highlights to the show, where Boom will do parodies of songs with Boom Academy (SuJu Lee Teuk and EunHyuk).
Park PD continued, “The corner ‘Boomkigayo’ was all Boom’s idea. And with the good responses from the viewers, he continued to build on the idea. But now that he has gone for his army duties in such a short notice, we thought that it was a shame to let it go.”

“In the future, Super Junior Lee Teuk will continue the corn as ‘Teuk-kigayo’. Lee Teuk is motivated to do well for this and is working hard for it. Already, the filming for ‘Teuk-kigayo’ has ended. Lee Teuk, Eun Hyuk and ShinDong has carried out the corner smoothly. Even though it is a shame that Boom cannot join us for the time being, but there is something fun to it too.”

Boom leaves for the army

On the 29th of October, Korean entertainer Boom (aka Lee Minho) was sent off to active duty by his Boom Academy students, Super Junior's Leeteuk and Eunhyuk.

Boom had this to say about his successors of the Boom Academy, "I'm thankful for Leeteuk and Eunhyuk seeing me off, and I await to see good things from the Boom Academy from the two while I'm gone." Leeteuk and Eunhyuk said, "We hope to keep the cheery and fighting spirit style that Boom has kept alive on Boom Academy." as the three shared a heartfelt hug.



Boom was also thankful for all the idol groups like 2PM, Super Junior, SHINee, SNSD, T-ara who called and asked, "Who's going to take care of all the idol groups?"

When asked who he wished came to see him off, he responded with "my girlfriend."

Boom then revealed he met his girlfriend the previous night:

"we traded gifts and letters. She also cried a lot, I tried to stop her from crying, but it didn't work. Also, I looked up on the internet what guys who leave for the military should do for their girlfriends prior to leaving. It said to never ask the girlfriend to wait, therefore I tried to be a man and told her to leave. But at the end I got on my knees and begged her to wait for me. She then helped me pack everything I needed.

I hope to continue building our beautiful love."

He concluded by saying, "My parents are very sad that I'm leaving but I got to share a meal with my family and other relatives, sharing stories and having fun. Even my younger cousins wrote me letters and that was just absolutely adorable."


Good luck to Boom but even more luck to Leeteuk and Eunhyuk! It won't be easy to hold true to Boom's legacy! Boom will be released in 2011.

Boom joining the army soon

n a pretty shocking and abrupt announcement, it was revealed that entertainer, Boom (real name: Lee Min Ho) will be enlisting to serve the nation in just 3 days time!

Boom will be reporting at the 102 Replacement Depot in Chuncheon for his basic military training on the 29th. After six weeks of training, he will then serve his nation for the next 22 months and is expected to be out by 2011.

A representative for Boom said, "Although the enlistment notice came rather abruptly, Boom is gearing himself up and is ready to serve his nation for the next two years."

Boom had only gained a fair bit of popularity recently after years of being on the sidelines. What will happen to him and his girlfriend which has just only got started? Wishing him all the best nevertheless.
