TVXQ #1 on Oricon Monthly

Posted by Nez 0 comments

TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki has achieved another first as their popularity grows in Japan. They’ve achieved their first ever #1 ranking on the Oricon Monthly chart with Break Out!

Despite being released late in January (January 27th), the boys took the Oricon Monthly Sales chart for January by selling 255,917 units. Second place was You were… / BALLAD by popular J-pop artist Ayumi Hamasaki, which was released on December 29th and sold less than half of Break Out! with a sales tally of 113,546.

Congratulations to TVXQ, hopefully they can continue this momentum with the release of their Best Selection 2010 album on February 17th. Also remember to check out allkpop & tokyohive’s TVXQ #alwayskeepthefaith Giveaway!

Jaejoong and Micky are on top of the Oricon Weekly

Posted by Nez 0 comments
Last week, Jaejoong and Micky of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki enjoyed much success, crushing the competition, with the release of their new single album "COLORS ~Melody and Harmony / Shelter." A week later it's on top once again, this time on the Oricon Weekly Sales Chart, selling nearly 150,000 units (149,363 to be exact). Good Night, Sweet Dreams to the competition because they crushed the competition once again as VAMPS came in at a distant second with only 31,504 units sold (COLORS first day sales nearly tripled the second place total weekly sales).

The album was practically first every day on the singles album chart this past week, so it was only a foregone conclusion that they would be first on the Oricon Weekly. This marks the seventh time that TVXQ has reached first on the Oricon Weekly Chart, which breaks their own record for a foreign artist... but this isn't the only good news.

“TVXQ 4th Live Tour 2009 – The Secret Code – FINAL In Dome” has also achieved first on both the Oricon Daily and Weekly DVD Charts, the first foreign artists in over 20 years to do so! This marks the first time that they have been able to accomplish such an impressive feat. This is very impressive for them and their popularity in Japan keeps on growing. Congratulations and hopefully their issues with SM are resolved soon. Make sure to check out the ONETVXQ Forums.

TVXQ is Number 2 for the month of May

Posted by Nez 0 comments

Popular group TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki placed second on the Oricon Monthly Sales chart for their One Piece OP single, "Share the World / We are!" The sales were tabulated from April 20th - May 17th and TVXQ had a sales of 129,000 during that time period.

TVXQ's 28th Japanese single titled Stand By You is scheduled to be released on July 1st. They will have very stiff competition with this release, Popular JPOP group Arashi will be releasing "Everything" on the same date. Other popular artists such as Flumpool, Gackt, and Mao Denda are also scheduled to release new singles around that time frame. TVXQ most likely won't be placing first like last time, but let's hope their Japanese fans go out and buy the album so they will be place high on the Oricon charts.

DBSK and F.T. Island both number 1 on ORICON’s

Posted by Nez 0 comments

TVXQ or DBSK recently showed why they're the GODs of the East by grabbing the number 1 spot on Oricon's Weekly Singles Chart with their song Share the World/We Are! This is a new record because they're the first foreign artist to have their single win Oricon's Weekly Singles Chart six times! That's one for each of their five members, and one more for their fans!!! Just kidding, the last one is going to father SM.

The single was released on the 22nd of April, in which it also shot to number 1.

*1位 98,033 東方神起 「Share The World/ウィーアー!」
*2位 66,910 桜高軽音部 「Don't say "lazy"」
*3位 61,921 ゆず
*4位 61,608 桜高軽音部 「Cagayake! GIRLS」

On a side note, apparently F.T. Island was also number 1 on the chart!! No joke!!

51 2,089 F.T. Island

Except there's this weird number 5 in front of the 1. I don't know what that number 5 is for, but I hate it. Actually if you think about it, that number 5 is probably for the 5 members of F.T. Island. I know what you're thinking. "BULLSHIT!" And you would be right. Oh well, there's always next time F.T. Island.

TVXQ’s Secret Code on Oricon Charts

Posted by Nez 0 comments

TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki's 4th Japanese album, "The Secret Code" was released in Japan today. The album placed second on the Oricon Daily Album Chart despite the heavy competition. Mega popular J-POP artist Ayumi Hamasaki was first on the chart selling 99,200 units on her first day. TVXQ placed second by moving 82,291 units. Another popular J-POP artist, Koda Kumi also released 2 albums today (best of compilation and driving album), but unfortunately for her she achieved only 5th and 6th place.

This is good news for TVXQ, their previous Japanese album "T" which was fairly popular achieved 52,273 sales in it's first week. Comparatively, "The Secret Code" surpassed that mark in a day. Also, BoA's Album which was released last week sold 81,627 units for the week. Namie Auro also released a new single last week and sold 75,456 units for the week. TVXQ should be well on their way to over 100,000 sales for the week and hopefully be in the Top 3 for the Oricon Weekly Sales Chart. Congratulations and good luck the rest of the week! Thanks to jaejin for the Tip.

No First Place for TVXQ on Oricon Chart this time

Posted by Nez 0 comments

TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki has enjoyed first place on the Oricon Charts for their releases over the past year but this wasn't the case this time. With stiff competition, TVXQ placed 3rd on the Oricion Daily Sales chart. TVXQ's single "Survivor" had a total sales of 54,243 while KAT-TUN almost tripled this amount for their single "Rescue" with 143,941 sales.

Although TVXQ has been quite popular in Japan, they still have some way to go before they can compete with the Arashi's and KAT-TUN's of the world. But we know they can do it, continue to support them everyone! Thanks to Lady Tee for the tip.

Oricon news: "Arashi's new single, already this year's 4th best selling single on its release date"

Posted by Nez 0 comments
The popular group Arashi's new single "Believe/Kumori nochi, Kaisei" debuted at Oricon Daily Ranking's top spot on March 3rd. It had record sales of 215,000, and only in its release date it made it to 2009's 4th best selling single, behind Akimoto Junko's "Ai no mama de..." (sales to date 336,000 since Jan 2008), Kat-tun's "ONE DROP" (sales to date 315,000 since Feb 2009), Shuchishin's "Yowamushi Santa" (sales to date 231,000 since Dec 2008).

Arashi/Yano Kenta starring Satoshi Ohno's "Believe/Kumori nochi, Kaisei" are both theme songs of the movie "Yatterman" (airing March 7th) starring member Sakurai Sho and TV Asahi Drama "Uta no Oniisan" starring Leader, Ohno Satoshi. Right now, it is only 121,000 copies away from 2009's most popular single Akimoto Junko's "Ai no mama de...," so depending on the sales from now on, it may break "Ai no mama de..."'s record sales and become this year's top selling single in just one week's time.
