Sexy boy face/man bodied AJOO and his song of lavishness has been banned from KBS. Some feel that KBS is criticizing AJOO with a double standard, as the broadcasting company states that the song promotes a bad image of worshiping materialism.
The public has questioned this decision by stating that the hit show "Boys Over Flowers," which is also about a bunch of rich young guys with the entire world and its pleasures at their fingertips, is allowed to air twice a week.
KBS asserts the reasoning for this is that a song appeals to a wider portion of the younger demographic while the topic of luxury and wealth is necessary for the whole production of a drama. The officials also added that during a short amount of time, a songs words are taken far more seriously and have a larger impact on the fragile young minds listening.
This is like another version of the whole gangster rap promoting violence debate. Now listening to songs will promote wealth, greed and extravagant self-indulgence.
Thank for the tip, mia!
