The once "extra" member of F4 is coming into his own, and he became the first cast member from Boys Over Flowers to appear on MBC's "Let Me Sleep Here for One Night", which is essentially a show where a bunch of ajummas go to a male celebrity's house and
Kim Joon first garnered attention among netizens when he was compared to Jang Dong Gun, a.k.a. Korea's best-looking guy. During the show, he revealed that his father had been a commercial model during his youth, and showed his picture. (Check out the upper left corner of the banner.) His mother, Im Mi Ja, also appeared on the show and stated, "Joon has my husband's big eyes and angular nose".
That day, he was asked who he thought was the most timid, who was the most resistant and who he personally thought was the best-looking of the F4 bunch, and he jokingly answered himself, causing the battalion of ajummas (i.e. Kang Soo Jung, Kim Ji Sun and Yoo Chae Young) to burst out laughing.
He also showed off his bedroom, and when asked why he didn't have his fans' gifts in the house, he answered that it was because during filming, he rarely stays at home and is usually in the residence he shares with the other cast members. He also admits, "I don't really get that many gifts compared to the other boys. But I'm very thankful because our fans send us finger foods and health drinks because they're worried that we don't eat properly."
(I've always found it disgusting how some people are so willing to spend money on their favorite celebrities who won't even notice them (cue the crazy Cassies and ELFs here), but they won't spend a single cent on charity, where they'd actually make a difference in the recipient's lives. Just my opinion.)
Check out Kim Joon's pictures from his younger days, in the following order: elementary school, middle school graduation photo, high school graduation photo and another high school graduation photo, as well as screenshots from the show.
