The stereotypical Korean ajumma is a woman in her 40s or 50s who loves to nag and has the trademark "ajumma curls". She's usually a housewife and thus spends her days hanging out with her other ajumma friends or lazing around, watching TV while lying down on the sofa.
KARA's resident cutie Goo Hara may not seem to fit the description of the typical ajumma but during a recent episode of KBS 2TV's "Star Golden Bell", the 19-year-old (Korean age) revealed that she is often told by the people around her that despite her young age, she has many ajumma-like qualities.
Hara said, "When we order food, the other members like to order this and that because they all want different kinds of foods. I'm usually the one nagging them and lambasting them for ordering more food than they can eat." (Well, they have a pig in their group, so I don't think she needs to worry about excess food...) Small-eyed MC Kim Jae Dong said, "I don't think they mean it in a bad way when they say you're like an ajumma. You're just very frugal and practical."
The second youngest member also stated, "Before, when we just waved and bowed to our fans, it was enough, but now, we always have to pick a fan and blow a kiss at him." Sweetie, that has nothing to do with you being ajumma-ish. It's just that your male fans are getting more perverted by the minute. What do you expect when you prance around in little school girl miniskirts?
