When YG Entertainment first introduced 2NE1 as "the female Big Bang", many complained that giving rookies such lofty expectations was unfair for both 2NE1 and their YG sunbaes Big Bang. Well, after four consecutive Music Bank mutizens for hit single "I Don't Care", I think it's safe to say that 2NE1 not only deserves the nickname, but also deserves to be set apart from the nickname and have a successful career alongside, instead of directly under, Big Bang. They have had a rather impressive debut year.
But, for now, 2NE1 is still a rookie group, and thank goodness, as it has given birth to a performance sure to be spectacular: 2NE1 will perform Big Bang's "Last Farewell" on the August 9th edition of SBS Inkigayo. With rumors of a fresh, 2NE1-infused choreography for the 2007 hit, anticipation is building for the YG Family showcase, and rightly so - considering how 2NE1 brings it for every performance, Sunday's stage will surely be one to remember. Though, in the back of my mind, I'm secretly praying for Big Bang to come flying down from the SBS Inkigayo ceiling and perform their song alongside 2NE1. That would make my century. Sunday just got better again.
