Recently, a survey was held by brand38 asked, “Which star is most fit for TV commercials?” 1,021 females and males over the age of 17 took part in this 1:1 interview. On April 25th, the result of this poll was released.
With 16.01% of the votes, 2PM came up in first place of the poll. Brand38 divides their polls biannually, and 2PM was in 7th place in the latter half of 2009.
In second was popular comedian Yoo JaeSuk with 13.34% of votes. In the second half of 2009, he was in first place.
Rising to first place out of the females was SNSD with 11.86% of the votes. Figure skater Kim YuNa won 9.49% of the participants’ hearts landing in fourth place. Flower boy Kang DongWon garnered 9.19% of votes for a close fifth.
2AM, CN Blue, Brown Eyed Girls, and BEAST landed in the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth places, respectively, with 8.89%, 8.3%, 6.23%, and 5.63% of votes. SHINee and T-ara tied for tenth place with 5.34% of votes.

Idol group rankings are becoming more apparent through these rankings. Besides the top ten, groups like After School (14th place), Super Junior (16th place), DBSK (18th place), Kara (20th place), 2NE1 (24th place), MBLAQ (25th place), SS501 (25th place), Davichi (30th place), Big Bang (30th place) Wonder Girls, FT Island, ZE:A (with rankings over 36th place) also ranked in this poll.
Even within idol groups, there seems to be rankings.
In a survey, the public seemed to be focused on 2PM’s Ok TaecYeon, SNSD’s TaeYeon, 2AM’s JoKwon, CN Blue’s Jung YongHwa, Brown Eyed Girls’ GaIn, BEAST’s Yoon DooJoon, SHINee’s JongHyun, T-ara’s JiYeon, After School’s UEE, Super Junior’s LeeTeuk, DBSK’s Xiah JunSu, Kara’s Goo Hara, 2NE1’s Park Bom, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon, SS501’s Kim HyunJoong, Big Bang’s TOP, f(x)’s Victoria, 4minute’s Kim HyunA, Wonder Girls’ YeEun, FT Island’s Lee HongKi, and ZE:A’s Moon JoonYoung.
Even within idol groups, there’s always one member that outshines them all. There might be huge stars that have a 10 year long history but if they do not promote, they lose the interest of the mass public, which is what is revealed through surveys like this. Lee NaYoung dropped from 20th place to 56th place, Han GaIn from 17 to 76, Lee YoungAe from 75 to 76, and Jun JiHyun from 10 to 131.
