Baek Ji Young writes an apology letter to her fans

After fainting in the middle of her concert, Baek Ji Young was unable to attend SBS Gayo Daejun for her performance. Earlier today, Baek Ji Young uploaded an apology letter to her fans through Rouge (루즈), the singer's fan cafe.

I am sorry, and I apologize for breaking my promise to perform. An artist's life depends on his/her health ... so it is mainly my fault for not taking care of my own body. I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart. ... On the day of my Dinner Party performance, my health wasn't good; I couldn't even stand up by myself. But I still attended the concert, thinking about audience which was prepared to watch my performance. I wanted to perform until the end because I received strength from the audience's applause. But at the end, I couldn't sing very well no matter how hard I tried, so I had to leave the stage. ... I will accept all of the complaints and rebukes from the audience and I will try my best to never let this kind of situation happen again. I will repay the audience members who attended that day by inviting them all to another concert I am preparing right now.

Baek Ji Young will still attend KBS Gayo Festival to perform Do Not Forget from the IRIS OST, as well as MBC Gayo Grand Celebration to perform My Ear's Candy with Lee Seung Gi today.

Best of luck to Baek Ji Young on her KBS & MBC performances as well as her recovery.

Thanks to Glee for the tips.

The Best and Worst of MAMA: Fashion Edition

Although many celebrities championed the awards at MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) 2009, others failed to impress in the fashion department.

Despite the unwritten "black-only" dress code that the stars seemed to unanimously follow last evening, the ladies of the night still showed individualism in their outfits, utilizing furs and accessories to give their varied dresses an extra punch.

Some pulled off a classy and sophisticated look, but others didn't. With that said, let's check out the best and the worst of the MAMA's.

BEST - Han Go Eun

It's been a while since fans last saw Han Go Eun on the red carpet. She looked absolutely gorgeous in a long black jumpsuit which fit her perfectly.

This actress perfectly balanced sexiness and conservatism with an alluring v-neck cut on a classy floor-length look.

GOOD - Kara

Now I know what Gyuri means every time she calls herself a goddess. At MAMA however, it wasn't just Gyuri that looked heavenly - all five KARA members were stunning. In my opinion, Goo Hara and Nicole looked especially pretty with their little black dresses. Since the girls are always wearing bright colors, it was a nice surprise to see them display a maturer look in black.

BAD - Baek Ji Young
I love Baek Ji Young but I don't know what to say about this one. Baek's outfit was all over the place and just too much. Aren't jackets supposed to be worn on someone's body, not their shoulders? The awkward leg slip and half-heartedly-worn leather jacket just killed the outfit. At least her face looked pretty.

WORST - 2NE1
Blackjacks, don't kill me for this one. No one can deny that CL's ridiculously huge fur shawl/jacket/vest/poncho was a mistake. I don't think Sandara Park looked all that bad but standing next to her members didn't help her look so good. It seems like their stylists wanted them to stand out so badly but they went too far. 2NE1 usually looks chic on stage but this time, the accessories just didn't work. I didn't mind the stage clothes 2NE1 wore for their musical stage but their red carpet look was a bit weird.

This year's MAMA styles were definitely all over the spectrum - thought these outfit choices may be more of a reflection on the aforementioned celebrities' stylists, it's interesting to see these ladies rock or bomb the fashion side of this event.

Isn't it ironic how Han Go Eun, the actress of the bunch, was the best dressed at a music awards show?

2PM’s Taecyeon dumped by Baek Ji Young for?

Baek Ji Young and 2PM's Taecyeon seem to be pretty close friends, evidenced by the fact of their work together for Baek Ji Young's single My Ear's Candy. However, it seems Taecyeon was recently dumped in favor of a new guy.

In reference to that backstage photo from Music Bank, Taecyeon jokingly posted on Baek Ji Young's minihompy: "You dumped me for Khun!! TT.TT keke"

It's ok Taec, I'm sure there's plenty of girls that would gladly line up replace Baek Ji Young. Thanks to Kvanne @ 2pm-online for the tip. Also remember to visit the 2ONEDAY Forums.

Baek Ji Young tells Jaebeom & 2PM to Stay Strong

Though her stage collaboration with 2PM's Taecyeon for "My Ear's Candy" may be over, Baek Ji Young is far from abandoning the popular idol group that has been making headlines these past few weeks.

The singer recently gave a supportive word of encouragement to Jaebeom and the rest of 2PM which has caught the idea of many netizens and fans. Though many icons both in the entertainment industry and beyond have been giving support in recent weeks, Baek's message stood apart from many because she was directly connected to Taecyeon during the time of Jaebeom's withdrawal and stayed by 2PM's side through the hardest times. Furthermore, she directly addresses the group & its leader instead of talking about the issue & breach of privacy in vague terms.

“Jaebum is accepting the mistake and is thoroughly regretting it. It’s upsetting to see people criticizing him from a view point of their hearts about one mistake caused through a historical misunderstanding when he was young,” Baek expressed.

“Looking at sincere and kind Taecyeon who I’m promoting with, it’s a worry if the spirited, professional and good image of the sincere leader Jaebum that lead them will be forgotten because of this case caused by a mistake.

“It hurts my heart and it is unfortunate to see the passions and efforts of a Hoobae (junior) singer that were accumulated for a long time collapse in one moment through a mistake,” Baek revealed. “As a singer he has taken the decision whether he’ll continue his promotions so I would like it if those around him did not breaks his free will and his wings.”

The singer even left an encouraging message for the withdrawn leader in Seattle:

Jaebum-ah.. I hope that you win over this hardship for your jump to the second episode and I would like it if you make this chance as a turning point and an opportunity for you to add another wing. I would like it you aren’t faltered by the world’s words and that you have strength.

It's heartwarming to see a maternal figure like Baek Ji Young offering support to 2PM right now when they need it most. Like her, we hope to see Jaebeom recover soon!

Baek Ji Young ft/ 2PM Taecyeon - My Ear’s Candy FULL MV

After some merciless teasing and then even more where that came from, Baek Ji Young and 2PM's Taecyeon are finally allowing us to fully experience our ear's candy (and eye candy for that matter).

The MV for My Ear's Candy is flashy, sexy--basically four minutes of both eye and ear candy. The flashing lights, combined with Taec's black wifebeater, nearly gave me a seizure. The frosty lips, the lip swipe, the intense gaze--wo ai ni too, Taec, wo ai ni too! Oh, the fabulous Baek Ji Young has got fangirls squirming in their seats with this one.
