BEAST’s Doojoon loves to eat bugs

Pretty disgusting just thinking about it, huh? Well, not for our BEASTy Doojoon! I guess while his fellow group members were rocking the stage in Korea, Doojoon was enjoying himself by eating tasty African bugs.

On the episode of MBC's new program, Danbi that aired on the 6th, Doojoon showed the audience his rather odd taste buds by pouring some dried larvae and ants in his mouth. While chewing what once happened to be crawling insects, Doojoon nonchalantly shouted, "These are rich in protein!"

The fans were not only entertained by Doojoon's surprising appetite, but also got a good laugh listening to his poor English used to lower the price for such an extravagant snack. Thanks to his good looks and charm, Doojoon managed to get a successful dee-soo-cow-woon-too! Check out the video below starting at 7:59.

BEAST’s Doojoon speaks about volunteering in Africa

Many of you are aware of the incident surrounding BEAST's Doojoon and his mysterious absence from the group's activities. After apologizing to his fans on his Cyworld MiniHompy, he has also spoken on the issue of volunteering in Africa.

Just yesterday, we revealed the reason behind his absence. Furthermore, Doojoon expressed his frustration with the rumors that came about after his absence from MBC Music Core and MAMA 2009 on the 21st and Spread the Love Concert on the 22nd, since neither he nor his entertainment company could reveal the news of his casting in new show MBC Danbi, as the show was supposed to be filmed discreetly.

Yoon Doojoon stated, "Because the TV program was supposed to be a secret, I was not allowed to reveal the reason," and, "Many rumors started to arise which made me very frustrated. I am very sorry for worrying my fans."

"While in Africa, I accessed the internet for a moment. I was in a situation where I wanted to reveal the truth to stop the strange rumors but couldn't. My entertainment company was also requested to keep the show a secret, so they could not reveal anything either. Whatever the reason be, I wanted to apologize for the worry I have caused."

"The reality of Africa is not so good. I have seen many disasters. With my cellphone, I took a picture of the kids in Africa and showed them their faces for the first time. There were hundreds of kids that were filmed and as I watched the kids, it gave me a heart to work harder in life."

BEAST’s leader Doojoon apologizes to fans

As we revealed yesterday, BEAST's leader Yoon Doojoon was volunteering in Africa, digging wells to provide fresh drinking water for the villagers. But his unknown absence did cause quite a stir with fans, with rumors of him quitting the group sprouting all over the internet.

Anyway, the kind leader posted a quick little message on his Cyworld homepage on the 26th, which said, "I'm sorry for worrying and inconveniencing everyone..."

Really though, there's no apology necessary, the guys a saint. On a side note, Doojoon kind of looks like Eun Ji Won in this photo.

The reason for BEAST leader Doojoon’s absence

After mysteriously disappearing out of sight from his fellow BEAST members on numerous stages including the 2009 MAMA, Doojoon stirred up netizens and fans in a debate over the reason why. Some had assumed he had withdrawn from activities due to an injury, while some believed he had officially quit the group. Don't worry, none of those rumors are true - Doojoon was actually volunteering in Africa, digging wells for the villagers. What an angel! I swear, the Cube Entertainment artists, 4minute and BEAST are just absolutely amazing!

Anyway, it turns out Doojoon was actually cast in MBC's Sunday Sunday Night's new show, Danbi (Acronym for Only One Secret in Korean). The show will focus on helping out people in need around the country and occasionally overseas.

A representative stated:

"Yoon Doojoon traveled to Zambia, Africa with actress Han Ji Min and helped to dig wells [to provide fresh water]. The top-secret filming did not allow the managers as well as the family members to attend. Everything will be revealed on our showcase opening on the 25th."

It seems like Yoon Doojoon will now be stretching into variety shows. Can't wait to see you sweat with your shovel!

Doojoon withdraws from BEAST?

With BEAST's leader Yoon Doojoon not attending both MBC's Music Core on the 21st and the Mnet Asian Music Awards on the 22nd, fans are now beginning to worry and speculate why he has been missing.

Although Cube Entertainment had already stated on the 21st that Doojoon was unable to attend the shows due to personal reasons and that it was nothing bad, the fans are not buying it, as they feel Cube Entertainment is holding something back. Many are even speculating that Doojoon has withdrawn from BEAST.

On the 23rd, Cube Entertainment released another statement:

"We are not able to reveal what it is right now. When the time is right, we will reveal the reason, so please wait."

With the release of Cube Entertainment's latest statement, the fans may have been right to speculate, as what started off as simple "personal reasons," seems to be a little more complicated than that.

Stay tuned for more on the whereabouts of BEAST's leader Yoon Doojoon.
