Han Hyo Joo to Make Her Singing Debut

Posted by Nez 0 comments

Han Hyo Joo to Make Her Singing Debut ...well, not a debut as in becoming a formal artist per se, but Han Hyo Joo will be singing a few songs for her new music drama project titled "Soul Special" with Branded Entertainment.

"I have sung once in public at the 'Soul Special' showcase, but I'm not a professional singer so I was thinking that it might be a discourtesy for me to sing," she said with a smile. She also added, "I hope that everyone will just be nice about my singing."

Now, a little background info about this upcoming music drama, "Soul Special." This drama depicts the relationship of a man and a woman who are in show business. Han Hyo Joo will star as Jin Mia, who is a singer/songwriter. Others on the cast include Lee Chae-young, will take on the role of Min Sae-hee who is a hotelier and Kim Dong-wook will portray Mia's significant other.

This music drama will air around the end of October, and will be 60 minutes long, 5-minute previews of it will also be posted on Cyworld every Tuesday and Thursday starting from September 29th.

Come on... Han Hyo Joo singing? In a drama? This is definitely a must-see. But what do you guys think about her singing in this drama?

TVXQ’s Endlessly Sweet reaches number 1

Posted by Nez 0 comments
TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki's new digital single "Endlessly Sweet" reaches number 1... no, not on the Oricon Charts but on the mu-mo chart.

Endlessly Sweet is a song for TVXQ's "Pinky" (Candies) Commercials that has been airing in Japan. Unfortunately, you won't be seeing the song on the Oricon Chart because there's no physical copy release of the single, instead it was released as a "digital only" single on September 23rd. Mu-mo is basically the Japanese version of iTunes and their music chart is based on downloads. Coming in at number 5 on the mu-mo-chart was Jaejoong's and Micky's "Been So Long" single.
That's not the only chart where "Endlessly Sweet" took first place, the song also took first on the Musico Daily chart. Jaejoong's and Micky's "Been So Long" single faired a bit better here than mu-mo and was right behind "Endlessly Sweet" at number 2 on this chart:

4minute’s HyunA Reveals One Of Her Diet Tactic

Posted by Nez 0 comments

4minute's HyunA has revealed one of her diet tactics - or to be a bit more accurate, one of the ways she helps herself stay in shape.

HyunA was on the girl group special episode of KBS TV's "Shin Dong-yup and Shin Bong-sun's Champagne", and revealed this diet tactic on the show.

She said, "For the sake of my diet, I never take elevators. At first, my manager made me take the stairs, but now I take the stairs without anyone telling me to."

She also said, "I'm so glad that the most I ever have to climb is three stories since the office building is only three stories high."

I'm not sure this "diet tactic" will work for everyone, though, since I've been climbing 10 floors worth of stairs at my school since freshman year and my weight hasn't changed that much since then. But hey, taking the stairs is always healthier than taking the elevator.

Brown Eyed Girls Heading Overseas

Posted by Nez 0 comments

Thanks to their Abracadabra hit song, the Brown Eyed Girls have finally managed to discard their "Forever No.2" tag since their debut three years ago. Seizing on the momentum before the Abracadabra mania dies down, the group are planning to venture overseas in the middle of October to gain more fans.

Nega Network expressed in an interview, "We are planning to release a special album (best of Brown Eyed Girls hit songs) in China and Thailand, and begin promotions over there. The next goal of the Brown Eyed Girls will be to enter overseas markets and Abracababra is really the cataylst behind this."

They ended by saying, "Even if we aren't able to achieve big success in the short term in Asian markets, the Brown Eyed Girls will continue to participate in variety programs, Hallyu concerts, etc to raise their profile gradually to convert neutrals into fans."

Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu Seeking Escape Route?

Posted by Nez 0 comments

It was reported recently that the DBSK trio of Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, currently embroiled in a lawsuit against SM Entertainment, have been meeting frequently with tv drama production companies, leading many to speculate about their future plans.

According to sources, since the lawsuit was filed, not only has the DBSK trio been seen in frequent discussions with other entertainment companies, they have also been seeking out suitable properties to act as their new offices, further confirming their desire to split with SM Entertainment.

Many speculate that the DBSK trio are seeking to find an escape route through acting in tv dramas. The trio have time and again stressed that they only want to void their contract with SM but without DBSK disbanding. Even if they win the lawsuit against SM, they wouldn't be able to release an album since Yunho and Changmin did not participate in it. So dramas would be their best alternative.

Despite the being advised that they should solve their differences outside of the court, SM Entertainment and the DBSK trio have been unable to come to a conpromise with each other. The courts will be ruling on the case very soon.

Posted by Nez 0 comments

We reported earlier about the Korean versions of Super Junior-M's title track, Super Girl and Blue Tomorrow for their new mini album which fans got to listen to when it was released in Korea yesterday.

If you were in the majority who loved the Chinese version of Super Girl, you will be pleased to know that SM Entertainment has just released another Super Girl MV. Everything is the same from the members, Jessica, etc, it's just that the Chinese track has been replaced with the Korean track of Super Girl plus some changed scenes.

After listening to the Chinese version first, the Korean version sounded weird to me. Maybe it's just me. Will Super Girl make waves in China and Korea at the same time? We will have to wait and see. Check out the hot release.

KBS2FM Unbans YG Entertainment

Posted by Nez 0 comments

We were all informed about KBS2FM boycotting YG Family and now it has been announced the boycotting has come to an end.

The whole controversy was about the matter of G-Dragon being a guest on Super Junior's Kiss the Radio. Supposedly, YG Family did not know G-Dragon was going to appear on the show when KBS2FM announced he was coming on the radio show. When G-Dragon pulled a no-show, both sides were angry about the situation.

KBS2FM was mad at the irresponsibility of G-Dragon and his representatives. They thought it was disrespectful and that they had to talk to YG before figuring things out. YG Family stated that they never confirmed his guest appearance on the show and that something went wrong in the communication.

On a phone call with Newsen on the 25th, YG Entertainment expressed, "It was all a misunderstanding so we personally talked things out." It has also been confirmed that KBS2FM will now start playing YG Entertainment's songs again.

Meanwhile, Yang Hyun Suk, president of YG Entertainment, has released his side of the story on the plagiarism accusations against his artistes.

Kim Heechul and Song Ji Hyo Chosen to Host Dream Concert

Posted by Nez 1 comments
Even with the non-stop downfall among our idols, the show must go on. Shortly after confirming the absence of DBSK and Jaebeom from the 2009 Dream Concert, the new MCs have now been decided and announced.

The organizers have decided to keep it as the same from last year, with Song Ji Hyo and Kim Heechul once again chosen to host the annual concert extravaganza. As former MCs of Inkigayo, their expectations for this event are high. Fans are awaiting to see their chemistry since they are hosting the same concert once more.

I don't know about you guys, but this picture makes it look like they are way MORE than just partners.

Back to the point, Kim Heechul revealed, "I won't let your hopes down by hosting the concert as your MC. I can't wait to have a great time with all of our fans."

The Dream Concert will open its veils on October 10th at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, which is sponsored by the Korean Entertainment Production Association and SBS.

Over 40,000 visitors are expected for this grand event, filled with hopes of seeing their Korean artistes rocking the stage. Big Bang, Super Junior, SNSD, 2PM, SHINee, Jewelry, 2NE1, and MC Mong are just some of the glittering names that will be performing at the concert.

I hope this concert can be a driving force for our fallen stars to come back on stage where they truly belong.

Super Junior-M’s Super Girl Mini Album Revealed

Posted by Nez 0 comments

After the release of their Super Girl title song last week and a radio rip of their ballad single, Blue Tomorrow earlier this week, fan have been waiting patiently for the album from Super Junior-M to drop.

Fret not, for the Korean version of the Super Girl mini album was released today on 24th September. All the songs recorded were composed from scratch, unlike the past where they would just translate Super Junior's songs into Chinese.

There are 2 Korean language tracks of Super Girl and Blue Tomorrow, exclusively only for the Korean version of the mini album and it's cheaper! The album has already been released on the 23rd in Taiwan and also in Hong Kong today. The album will be released subsequently in the rest of Asia by end September.

04 動情 (Only U).

05 愛情接力 (You & Me).

SM Entertainment’s request gets thrown down

Posted by Nez 0 comments

SM Entertainment asked the court that Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu's request for SME's evidence be cancelled, but the court refused.

On August 5th of 2009, TVXQ's Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu demanded that SME show them the full contract terms, income records, and other documents that SME hid from them.
The court took TVXQ's side on that conflict, and ordered SME to provide the related documents in trial.

But, SME insisted that the documents weren't subject to investigation according to Korean civil law and that a specific time frame and type weren't specified.
SME then demanded that TVXQ's request for those documents be refused by the court, only to be rebuffed by the court itself.

The Seoul Central Court stated that, "The documents in question have been created by the artists and their affiliated company about legal matters, and according to civil lawsuit proceedings, the owners of the document have no right to withhold the documents from court nor others involved with the documents. Therefore SME's claim that the documents shouldn't have to go under examination is an unreasonable claim."

So it looks like SM has no more tricks up their sleeves. Now we will all know why SME has been so reluctant to reveal the income records and the contract terms.

The court has ordered that SME provide the documents within 10 days.

Things are heating up, and what seems like this infinitely postponed court ruling will finally be revealed by the end of September.

But don't let it fool you. This is just one trial of many that will spring up from this TVXQ issue.

Stay tuned to allkpop for the latest on this scandal.

K. Will’s Soul Special MV!

Posted by Nez 0 comments

K. Will, who is to debut as an actor in the upcoming music drama, Soul Special, has also taken part in creating music for the OST (Original Sound Track).

The song is called "사랑한단 말을 못해서" and although it's been translated as "They Can't Love", it literally means, "Because I Couldn't Say That I Love You". The video is more of a combination of a music video and a preview of the show. It tells a short story between K.Will's costars, Han Hyo Joo and Kim Dong Wook. It also reveals that Han Hyo Joo follows the path of 'rock' and that she has lived a hard life.

Also a reminder; this is NOT Daesung from Big Bang. Yes, yes, they do look alike but in no way are they the same person.

Now enjoy yet another wonderful ballad by the immaculate voice of K.Will:

Daesung films for Family Outing

Posted by Nez 0 comments

On August 11th, Big Bang member Daesung unfortunately suffered a horrific car accident. Due to this, he had to miss out on a lot of activities including Big Bang performances, the musical "Shouting," and Family Outing appearances. However although not fully recovered, Daesung has been recovering fast and well enough to film for Family Outing.

On September 21st and 22nd, Daesung was on Jeju Island and filmed for Family Outing. A YG Entertainment representative said, "He didn't really participate in the parts involving a lot of physical activity. He just talked and did dialogue with his fellow members on Family Outing."

It's good to see that's he back on the show! Hopefully Daesung recovers fully soon so he can participate in all those fun Family Outing events once again and also with his fellow Big Bang members. Also, check out the Big Bang VIP Forums.

During the segment, Lee Seung Gi had to choose from a list of Korean beauties: Kim Tae Hee, Jeon Ji Hyun, Kim Yuna, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Hyo Ri, Son Dambi, Shin Min Ah, and Son Ye Jin. To everyone's surprise, Lee Seung Gi did not even eliminate any girls from the list, but instead, chose Yoona right away without thinking.

Kim So Eun Gets Sued

Posted by Nez 0 comments

Despite initially stating that there were no issues with Kim So Eun's withdrawal from 4th Period Murder Mystery movie in June, the production company, Sway Entertainment has now backtracked on that decision and have filed a lawsuit against Kim So Eun.

Sway Entertainment filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central Court on 22nd September, asking for Kim So Eun to return all appearance fees paid to her during the filming of the movie and compensation for her backing out of the contract.

The lawsuit stated that Sway Entertainment had given Kim So Eun 40 million KRW as appearance fees. But due to fatique and scheduling conflicts, Kim So Eun had to drop the movie role in the middle of filming. Sway Entertainment claimed that although Kim So Eun said that she was exhausted, she still went on to film a MV for 8Eight and appear at other events, and thus failed to adhere to terms as stated in the contract.

N.O.A Entertainment expressed disbelief, "Filming for the movie was already 80% completed and then they changed the director suddenly, forcing the movie to be reshot again. But we couldn't comply with that as that would interfere with So Eun's schedule for The Man Who Can't Marry. And after discussions with them, it was decided that So Eun would drop out of the movie with no issues at all between all parties."

N.O.A Entertainment added, "They are obviously trying to shift the blame onto someone. We were only following what has already been planned beforehand for Kim So Eun. If the need arises, we will file a counter lawsuit against them."

Newbie actress Kang Sora stepped in for Kim So Eun after the latter opted out, while Yoo Seung Ho continued filming for the movie.

And an extra tidbit, the movie bombed at the box office.

Kangin to be charged this week

Posted by Nez 0 comments

Yes, beating the dead horse.

Super Junior's Kangin will finally receive judgment this week for his involvement in a recent bar fight. My guess is that he'll receive a slap on the wrist, after all it seems he didn't instigate the fight and it was mainly self defense.

The police stated on the 21st:

"At first, Kangin tried to avoid the fight. However, one of the suspects kept following him around and continuously attempted to attack him, in which Kangin did attack the suspect. The investigations are over and a conclusion has been drawn. Although we cannot reveal specifics yet, Kangin will be charged sometime this week."

SM Entertainment stated:
"Kangin tried to avoid the fight, but had no choice, it was self defense."

Kangin stated:
"I'm very sorry about causing trouble. To everyone who has been concerned for me, I would like to apologize. I will make sure to never cause another situation like this again."

Whatevers! I still want to see Kangin kicking some pedestrian ass. Imagine getting beaten by an idol group member, now that's embarrassing, even if Kangin isn't your typical idol group member.

Han Chae Young gets in trouble with Jang Dong Gun?

Posted by Nez 1 comments

Korea's "Barbie Doll," Han Chae Young and Jang Dong Gun (who's making his Hollywood debut in The Warrior's Way) are starring in the movie Good Morning President together. Due to their eight year age difference, Han Chae Young called him "ahjusshi (old man)" when they first met, which turned out to be a bad move, because she got in trouble. But no worries, because he was just jokingly mad at her.

On KBS Entertainment Tonight (YunYeGa), Han Chae Young revealed, "I've gotten in trouble by my Good Morning President movie partner, Jang Dong Gun. I called him 'ahjusshi' because of our eight year age difference, and he didn't like it (laughing)."

She also stated, "Jang Dong Gun and I mainly have marriage or girlfriend talks. I've even asked him why at his age he still doesn't have a girlfriend."

In Good Morning President, Han Chae Young falls in love with president Jang Dong Gun, and it's about their little love story. I wonder how compatible these two will be in this movie. It's kinda sounds like the movie, Love Actually, where Hugh Grant and his secretary fall in love. But in all honesty, I wouldn't mind having Jang Dong Gun as my president... I would actually tune in to all the political debates, despite how long and boring they get.

Also, on the 20th, Han Chae Young attended another interview session in Kyung Ki Do for Good Morning President.

During the interview, Han Chae Young admitted, "Jang Dong Gun is an actor I started to like while watching him through Korean videos while I was overseas in America. When I got the chance to act with him in this project, it was a huge honor and I was really nervous."

She also added, "By having the chance to work with him, I realized he was an even better person and that I liked him more than before. I was able to have a fun time filming because he is well-mannered, warm-hearted, and very fun to be around."

Sounds like Han Chae Young and Jang Dong Gun had some chemistry together and developed a pretty good relationship. Can't wait to watch this movie, because both the main roles are hot!

Kangin had come to the filming place very early for one of the recordings, and read over the kid's profile very carefully, showing his dedication. Although he is now involved in a police case, he is a very kind and and friendly person during recordings. It will be great to have him continue on the show in the future."

As for Kangin's schedule on the show in future, it's still very much up in the air depending on legal proceedings. The staff said, "That hasn't been decided yet. But in the event that Kangin won't be coming in for the next recording, we are making contingency plans to find a replacement for him temporarily."

Dream Becomes Lowest Rated Drama In 2009

Posted by Nez 0 comments

After having high expectations placed on it by SBS and the production company to do well initially, Dream is well on its way to becoming a washout instead.

Known for having poor ratings, Dream reached a new low after it had the dubious honor of becoming the lowest rated Korean drama in 2009 thus far after registering just 3.3% for its 21st September episode.

Much was expected of the drama, especially since it was based on sports and boxing, plus a main cast of Joo Jin Mo, Son Dambi and Kim Bum. The main reason for Dream's demise is largely attributed to the mammoth ratings that Queen Seon Duk are pulling in week in week out, averaging 40% recently. The lacklustre storyline in Dream is also a reason, with Korean viewers not drawn to the unimaginative familar plotlines.

KBS2TV's The Queen Returns is not faring any better having just debuted recently, but it managed to relegate Dream to last position, with 4.8%. With 3 more episodes to go for Dream before the finale next week, the nightmare will soon be over though.

Jaebeom Leaves Message for Hottests?

Posted by Nez 0 comments

After all that has happened, there was some temporary joy for Hottests after Jaebeom apparently left a message on 21st September at 6.07pm (KST), on 2PM's Official Daum Cafe. But that joy soon turned to doubt when some Hottests tracked down the ip address and it was discovered that it originated from a computer in Korea, not Seattle.

The majority of Hottests are speculating that someone from within JYP Entertainment might be trying to pull a fast one on the fans, by impersonating Jaebeom, to allay fans' worries and stop the ongoing boycott of 2PM. Others felt that, this might be really a message by Jaebeom and JYPE was just posting it on his behalf.

At this juncture, it's really hard to believe anyone, unless Jaebeom speaks personally.

Jaebeom's (?) message

Everybody.....
I had a reason to leave......
JYP hyung and 2PM members are like family to me.....
They stayed by my side in a tough situation like this.....
I'm already having a hard time.....
Don't make this even harder for me please.....
I'm very sorry to make you guys worry so much....

Many thanks to Shim Min Jee and Rainiee for the tip.

UPDATE: translation by notmysteez, source: sportseoul

translation:
right after jay's statement was posted, 2pm fans said it was fake because it "does not sound like the way he has always talked", and said that they doubt jay posted it himself. about this, someone from jype answered that "we have checked and jay wrote this himself. we know that in seattle he has been reading up on all of the news and everything happening in korea through the internet, and he has been feeling very upset about all of it."

---

in regards to the IP address issue, this is my take:
since jype has verified that this isn't a statement from some third party, i think either one of two things are true, even though the IP may be from korea: either this is really what jay feels and someone wrote it for him and posted it for him IN KOREA OR jype wrote this without consulting with jay and posted it under his name. - notmysteez @ 2ONEDAY forums

2PM Underground Continues Boycott of 2PM

Posted by Nez 0 comments

Despite the release of an official statement from JYP Entertainment saying that 2PM will continue with 6 members, Hottests aren't letting this just go away with Jaebom's future still up in the air.

On the afternoon of 20th September, 2PM's fan club, Underground announced that the full boycott of 2PM's activities will continue until the decision to withdraw Jaebeom from 2PM is ended. Their statement wrote that JYPE should release Jaebeom's contract terms and hopes that JYP can depict clearly exactly how he is going to help Jaebeom return to 2PM.

The fan club also wanted JYPE to apologize, especially for not doing enough for Jaebeom (shielding him), and also hope that the other 2PM members can tell fans personally about their feelings about this matter and not through JYP.

Finally, they stamped home the point that, they are not asking for Jaebeom's immediate return, but to withdraw their (JYPE) decision to take him out of 2PM. They are sorry for misunderstanding the way JYP has handled the situation and the problems that have surfaced for the other 2PM members.

But until their demands are met, the boycott of 2PM will continue.

G-Dragon’s “Breathe” MV Released

Posted by Nez 0 comments

In light of the events that have occurred in the past few hours, G-Dragon's really stealing the spotlight tonight - from Sony announcing their verdict regarding past plagiarism issues to being caught smoking, it doesn't seem like GD's day.

However, all is not lost! With Heartbreaker wrapping up, G-Dragon is taking a fresh step forward with the release of "Breathe". You guys have waited long enough and finally you can sit back and relax, knowing this singer has pulled through with the release of his second installment of his MV trilogy! Now clear your heads of those issues and enjoying "Breathe" here... look out for the special guest appearance of G-Dragon's true love at the end!

For those of you who loved Heartbreaker, you're going to fall for this music video as well - it's a continuation of many concepts, including the apple & white-red color scheme. Plus, we see a return of the futuristic set and those Chris Crocker-esque pillow-blankets. Though this is similar to Heartbreaker, G-Dragon definitely seems much happier; it's great to see his playful image again. Check out the crescendo of colors from beginning to end...

With the success of his solo debut single "Heartbreaker", is the momentum still on G-Dragon's side? Or is it time for some other star to shine?

G-Dragon Seen Smoking?

Posted by Nez 0 comments

G-Dragon, the center of various controversies lately, managed to draw the public's attention yet again, this time not with his neon shorts or plagiarism accusations, but the rumored cancer stick he was seen holding between his fingers. This explains why the "Boy" can't "Breathe"!

Kush and actress Kim Min Hee were also spotted in the pictures.

As expected, netizens are in complete disarray over the photos of the Big Bang leader blazing one up at the 2009 Global Gathering.
This fool smokes too?
Smoking isn't a big deal, but GD is an idol. Shouldn't he be more careful?
I liked Big Bang's GD better than the solo GD.
He really wants to ruin his image -.-
Didn't he participate in an anti-smoking campaign last year? How hypocritical.
An artist like him should be taking care of his throat, but he smokes instead.

On the other hand, some comments were in defense of G-Dragon's act.
Smoking is not the issue here. It's his plagiarism accusations.
I feel sorry for both Jaebeom and GD... Being a celebrity in Korea must be stressful.
What's wrong with smoking?
He looks cool even when he smokes.

Even if these pictures turn out to be fake, VIPs generally agreed that smoking is his own private matter. However, they are still concerned for his health. After all, smoking has been scientifically proven to cause to several life-threatening health risks. Perhaps this "Heartbreaker" should stop breaking girls' hearts and start taking care of his own.
