2PM fans send bank books to JYP

2PM fans, the Underground, sent 2 containers packed with bank books to the JYP Entertainment office in Seoul on October 28^th. On over 6000 (6129 to be exact) bank accounts, the fans wrote on the cover, “this is 11,000 won that will be used to buy 2PM’s album if Jaebum returns.”

The potential funds of 60 million won (about 48 thousand USD) is supposed to whet JYP’s appetite and force him to bring Jaebum back. But that’s unlikely. For someone who rakes in over 100 million won per month from licensing alone, 60 million is peanuts.

Fans who contributed to the “Bring back Jaebum campaign, Part 2000” include fans from middle schoolers to parents.

SHINee “ring ding dong” most watched on Youtube

Looks like SHINee has gotten the noonaa to “ring ding dong” them on Youtube.

The music video for SHINee’s fresh single “Ring Ding Dong” topped the most-watched video on Youtube this month with 1 million hits, according to their management company, SM.

Although the MV officially received 747,292 hits on the SM page on Youtube as of October 30, the inclusion of the MV posted up by fans bumped up the number of hits to over 1 million.

Not only that, the noonas made sure that the MV was the “Most Talked About Video” with 3,844 comments.

2PM new album release date on Cyworld taken down; Underground moves on with their 2nd boycott exercise

Following the chain of speculations and discussions after the date 10th November was stated as PM’s comeback new album release date on Cyworld on 28th October, the release date for the album was taken down from Cyworld on 30th October.

And on 28th October, fan union Underground handed over 6192 passbooks with 11,000 KRW in each to JYP headquarters in ChungDamDong, asking to return JaeBum to the group with the money the fans will be using to buy 2PM’s upcoming album.

But on 29th and 30th October, the dates were taken down from the sites.

And at the same time, on 28th October, 2PM fan union Underground return 6192 passbooks with 11,ooo KRW deposited in each one to JYP Entertainment. In each passbook is written, “We wish to use the money meant to buy 2PM’s new album for JaeBum to return” and “I ♡ 재범” at the back of the passbook.

UnderGround members revealed that this is one of their boycott measures to demand for JaeBum to return to 2PM.

And for this boycott exercise, fans from middle and high school, college, working adults in their 20s and 40s, parents and also overseas fans were mobilized.

Time Magazine introduces Korean idol group Big Bang

American weekly magazine ‘Time’ wrote an article introducing Korean idol group Big Bang.

The article was posted up on Time Magazine’s website on 29th October. In the article, Big Bang was introduced as one of the most promising singer groups in Korea and their journey to advancing into the Japanese music market.

A part of the article goes:

Taeyang’s Full Length Album: January 2010

After over a year and 5 months since the release of his first solo mini-album 'HOT', Taeyang returned with his song Where U At, two weeks ago.

As you may all know by now, Where U At is not actually the lead single of his upcoming full length album, but is instead a prelude to it. He put on one performance for Inkigayo and now that that's over, in November, he'll release his digital single Wedding Dress, and continue promotions until the end of the year for the song.

So with him promoting his single for two months, it begs the question: when is his full length album coming out? Well, no official date is confirmed but for now all that's been said is that his new album will be coming out sometime early next year in 2010. When asked what kind of a song Wedding Dress is, he replied by saying, "In comparison to Where U At, Wedding Dress is a song that everyone will like." Does that mean people didn't like Where U At? Does it mean it's to attract other people who don't like hip-hop by going in another direction like fellow YG singer, Park Bom's You And I? Or are we just over thinking this? I think so. Oh see, there I go, thinking again about whether or not I'm thinking too much.

U-Kiss releases MV teaser

U-Kiss is making their way back to the K-Pop scene just in time for the boy band fest! They have a new single titled Man Man Ha Ni? (만만하니) and it has an addictive tune!

U-Kiss returns after going through a 180 degrees transformation and the addition of a new member, Kiseop, making it a 7-member group. They seem to be joining the black concept along with MBLAQ and BEAST.

Lee Hong Ki back with F.T.Island for Concert Tour

Many of you already know that A.N.JELL is the band that was made up for the SBS drama, You're Beautiful. In the band, Lee Hong Ki of the real band F.T.Island plays the drums, but now he's back in his original spot as main vocal of F.T.Island.

Lee Hong Ki is reuniting with his band mates for a national concert tour in Korea called "Men's Stories." On November 14th and 15th, F.T.Island will start their 8 city tour starting with Seoul. Though Lee Hong Ki has been busy with his drama, he's practicing with all his energy for this special tour.

They will perform songs from the repackaged version of their 3rd album, and I'm sure F.T.Triple will perform their song Love Letter as well.

Lee Hong Ki said, "I'm having a great experience with the drama but I want to also give all of my effort to being member of F.T.Island."

SS501 “Love Like This” MV

SS501 have finally released their Love Like This music video, nearly a week after completing their comeback stages on Inkigayo and Music Core.

Kim Hyun Joong himself described this new song as a very sexy song and he is without a doubt correct.

The comeback stages definitely met up to fans' standards and the music video will woe everyone once again.

Jo Kwon Close To Recovery

We recently reported that 2AM's Jo Kwon was diagnosed with swine flu. Due to the flu, he had to cancel his filming for MBC's We Got Married.

Well don't worry anymore!

A representative stated, "After being treated in the hospital, Jo Kwon's condition has significantly improved, close to a full recovery. It is highly possible that he will be decided to be fully recovered today. At the latest will be early next week."

Fortunately, the rest of 2AM's members has no signs of infections of the flu.

4minute’s Gayoon is OK

We recently reported that 4minute's Gayoon injured her ankle as she fell while walking offstage after finishing her performance of What a Girl Wants on M! Countdown. Gayoon was immediately rushed to the hospital as her ankle had become extremely swollen by the minute.

Well good news, she's fine!

A Cube Entertainment representative stated:

"Gayoon injured her ankle while she was walking offstage after her performance. Although she is having a bit of difficulty moving, it isn't to the point where her scheduled events will be canceled. Gayoon has also expressed that she is fine, so 4minute's scheduled activities will go on as planned."

Thank goodness she is ok! Here's hoping for a speedy recovery!

The Wonder Girls fall off the Billboard Chart

Although the Wonder Girls were the first Korean artists to ever break into the Top 100 in the entire existence of the Billboard charts, their success was short lived.

Will they be able to produce a bigger hit this time around? Only time will tell, however JYP insists on focusing all his energy on the US market as he stated during their press conference in Korea on the 23rd, that the Wonder Girls do not have future plans in Korea at the moment. JYP plans on bringing the girls back to the states soon to completely focus on the US and European markets.

Park Bom’s “You and I” staying strong on the charts

2NE1's lead vocalist Park Bom, recently released her first solo single and MV of You and I, entering the music industry by herself.

The song was a hit, as it ranked first throughout music portal sites such as Melon, Dosirak, Bugs and Cyworld.

What's more impressing is that she is competing against idol groups (BEAST/B2ST, MBLAQ, SHINee, SS501) and veteran singers (Ivy, Baek Ji Young, HwanHee, Kim Tae Woo) yet she herself, without the help of her 2NE1 members, have been able to dominate amongst them.

But on top of that, the bride's big ribbon bow that was used instead of a tiara was worth 800,000 won. Also, the elegant after dress worn by the movie star was designed by famous New York designer Carolina Herrera and it cost 12,000,000 won. That's not all! The silk cap worn along with the beautiful after dress cost up to 60,000,000 to 70,000,000 won! Not only that but the separately purchased diamond brouch on her silk cap cost 10,000,000 to 15,000,000 won alone! Isn't that crazy?!

SHINee’s MV Is A Hit

With the recent flush of boy groups, specifically BEAST/B2ST and MBLAQ, we definitely cannot forget about SHINee.

SHINee released their album 2009, Year Of Us into the market on the 22nd, and they have been having various music program activities with their title-song Ring Ding Dong. We all already know that their album was a big hit, as they have been dominating music portal sites as well as Hanteo's album sales chart. There are also members who may not be as outstanding in terms of looks as compared to the other members in the group but are as talented as or even more talented than anyone for their vocals.

We call them the ‘artsy idol’, and our representative idol members are G.O.D Kim TaeWoo and Fin.K.L Ok JooHyun.

For our younger idols there are 2AM ChangMin, SS501 Heo YoungSaeng, Big Bang DaeSung, Dong Bang Shin Ki JunSu etc.

These members are the voices of the group and are as important as the ‘flower idols’ because they delivers good performances on stages.

2PM, Super Junior and SHINee amongst others for Hope Concert

The top singers of Korea are going to stand on stage in Busan.

The Busan Association for the Disabled revealed on the 28th that “Super Junior Happy, 2PM, SHINee and others are going to open for the 1st annual Korea ‘Hope Concert’ held on November 14th in Busan Asiad Stadium.

At the concert, these 3 teams are each going to perform 6 songs, kind of like a semi concert style. This is bringing about a lot of attention from fans.

Stareast, in charge of the ticketing and promotion, has stated, “Because the sponsors want a safe and organized concert, we created a special fan club seating area,” they went on to add “The promotion for ticketing is going on in the Stareast entertainment homepage, and we are getting a lot of attention from fans at this time.”
