July is the month of Kpop ‘Big Bang’, jampacked with comebacks and debuts
This July, we are seeing a much more hyped up Kpop scene as compared to June with the World Cup season going on.
Kpop fans are in for a ride with comeback by Big Bang TaeYang and Gan MiYeon, as well as debuts by JYP new girlgroup miss A and boyband Teen Top.
Already, TaeYang made his comeback with his 1st full length solo album ‘Solar’ released on 1st July, and had his comeback stage on Mnet M!Countdown. The title song ‘I Need A Girl’ also featured the rap of friend of 10 years GDragon. And the MV features Sandara Park.

Se7en to comeback with new album in early July, album preparations in the midst
A YG Entertainment representative told Newsen on 11th May, “Se7en is currently preparing for the new album to be released in July.”
The rep revealed that there are plans for the new album to be released on 1st July, and they are currently preparing for it. The pre-recording was done earlier in April and back then, a rep has also revealed that, “Se7en will comeback with new features” pointing to a more matured image for Se7en’s comeback.
There is great anticipation for Se7en’s comeback since this is his comeback after 3 years plus, the YG rep added, “Se7en is preparing for the album enthusiastically.”
Meanwhile, Se7en released his last album ‘Se7olution’ in November 2006. Even though he did release hit digital single in 2007, it has been a while since he released a new song in Korea. This will be his 1st album after he released his song ‘Girl’ in the States.

YG Schedule Update 2010
As you have already realised, Gummy has officially headed the list of YG Artists that will be bringing some new material to the music scene this year.
Gummy will be releasing her new mini album “Loveless” on the 30th and making her come back into music industry that is quite saturated with idols groups at the moment. In March 2008, Gummy released her fourth album “Comfort” and returned to the idol dominated music world after 2 years for only a short one month. She will be starting activities in the first week of May with her R&B hip hop song “Because you are a man”, which was produced by no other than Teddy, a fellow YG artist who also produced 2NE1’s Fire etc.
It seems like YG plans on leaving the first half of 2010 to be rather barren on their side, but will unleash the YG fury upon the Korean public without much of a break in the second half of the year.
After Gummy, we will see the comeback of Se7en!! On the 26th March, YG announced that Se7en will go about promoting with a new album out at the end of May. In November of 2006, Se7en came back into the spotlight after 3 years but and only promoted for a mere 6 months with his 4th album “Se7olution”. It has been announced that his new album will be a mini album. The title song has already been decided and the filming for the music video has already been completed. Representatives from YG have said: “It will have a completely different style from Se7en’s past albums”, so get excited, Se7en fans!
The third appearance in 2010 from another YG artist will be by Big Bang member Taeyang!!! In November of last year, he released his digital single “Wedding Dress” as his second solo project, and he is currently in the process of preparing for his first full album. YG reps are keeping mum about what’s happening, only explaining that Taeyang, aside from musicals, movies, etc. he is walking down a different part from his fellow Big Bang members; after he realised “Wedding Dress”, he has been putting a lot of effort into the production of his album.
After Gummy, Se7en and Taeyang, YG has decided to conclude the second half of the year with 2NE1 and Big Bang. G-Dragon, who had a very successful run last year with his first solo album “Heartbreaker” is currently in the process of helping and supporting other artists of the YG Family to produce their albums. Although there have not been confirmations for an album yet, Big Bang member Daesung has also been gathering plenty of ballad songs together and is in the process of planning for his own solo activities.
YG representatives also further stated that: “At the moment, we are in the process of working on Se7en, Taeyang and 2NE1’s albums at the same time”, and that “we are adjusting the schedules so that their activities will not overlap each other.”

Also: about TOP’s Solo Album- according to news, it was the resident Big Bang badass himself who decided to delay his album because he wanted to concentrate on his movie “Into the Gunfire”.

Se7en celebrates his sweetheart’s birthday
Many are already aware that Se7en and actress Park Han Byul are now officially a couple after a long period of hiding the fact under the veils for 7 long years.I guess they are now ready for public affections, as Se7en posted a picture of him celebrating Han Byul's birthday on the 17th on his CyWorld minihompy.
The picture was grouped under the folder called 7star, a cute combination of Se7en + Byul (meaning star in Korean). I am pretty sure the folder will be filled with lovely pictures soon. He wrote the caption, "A cut from Byulee's studio~! happy b'day ^^ <3"
Meanwhile, Se7en will be making a special comeback in Korea after two years of hiatus on G-Dragon's solo concert, 'Shine a Light' on December 5th through 6th. Also, Han Byul has recently gained the title of CEO after launching her own clothing line, Starly.
Hm.. do you think they will be tying the knot soon? I mean, who knows if they will be in their wedding gowns and tuxes the next photo we see of them?

Se7en plans to return to the States!
Looks like Se7en will go back to the US after all! After it was revealed that the YG Entertainment solo artist was preparing for his Korean comeback at G-Dragon's concert, some wondered whether he gave up on the American market.
Regarding this issue, a representative of YG Entertainment stated:
Although Se7en released his US debut single Girls, it is not right to say that he had a proper debut with activities. Se7en is sorry to all his fans. He is thinking to payback with his great music and stage through his Korean comeback. ... For a new start [at the US market], Se7en recently visited major music label companies throughout the week and came back. Because of the positive discussions he had, you can expect good news. ... In Se7en's Korea/US/Japan projects, we are not only working on his musical releases, but we are working on various other fields.
In 2010, Se7en will be preparing for projects throughout Korea, US and Japan. He is looking for a fresh new start with his new management, which will organize his American and Japan activities as his previous management's contract expired. YGE is currently holding discussions with 10 major music label companies to pick one of them to collaborate with.
It is great to see YGE and Se7en not giving up on the US market yet! Stay tuned as we bring you more on this singer's big comeback.

Se7en to perform at G-Dragon’s concert
Se7en will be making his official return to the k-pop scene at G-Dragon's first solo concert (Shine a light) on December 5th and 6th at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.
G-Dragon stated his enthusiasm:
"This is my first solo concert and I wanted Se7en to perform as a guest badly, as I was so close with him during my training years, but I couldn't say anything and waited patiently."
Se7en stated:
"I was very close with G-Dragon during our younger years, and since this is his first solo concert, it's an absolute must that I be there (to support). I'm currently figuring out which songs to perform and will be practicing."
YG Entertainment stated:
"Since this is Se7en's return to the stage in a very long time, we are putting lots of consideration into which songs he will perform. We are even considering the new songs that he has been working on."
Big news for YG Entertainment, looks like the demand for G-Dragon's first solo concert just got even hotter.

Se7en is getting ready for his Korean comeback!
It seems Se7en will be back on the kpop scene... we know you ladies have missed him dearly, but does he still have what it takes to compete in this over-crowded boy band market?
Asiae reported:
Singer Se7en is in preparations to make a comeback to the local music scene for the first time since 2006, according to his agency on Tuesday.
"He has recently been recording songs for his next album to be released in Korea," an official at YG Entertainment told 10Asia over the phone.
The official added that a single could be released ahead of a regular album, although she could not confirm the exact timing. "It will all depend on how good the song is -- the comeback may be delayed if the song isn't good enough," she explained.
The 24-year-old singer had last released a fourth album in Korea before heading to the United States to expand his career. He released his first English single "Girls" featuring Lil' Kim in March this year.
Since his debut in 2003, Se7en has enjoyed a successful career not only in Korea but also throughout several countries throughout Asia including Japan, China, Thailand and Taiwan.
We wish Se7en the best of luck. Although the market is cluttered, we don't think Se7en will have any problems... the return of solo male artists, about time!

Se7en to release an album in Korea after 3 years
Singer Se7en will be back releasing a new album in Korea after 3 years.
Se7en, who has started working on his American music market advance in 2006 and has been preparing for his debut in America recently, is back in Korea recently, and had announced the released of his upcoming album, resuming his promotional activities in Korea. Also, there are also plans for him to promote in Japan. This is definitely good news for Korean and Japanese fans who have been waiting for his comeback.
A YG Entertainment representative said, “We have decided that Se7en will release a new album this year. The album will be released simultaneously in Korea and Japan and he will also be doing the promotions.”
The representative added, “This is not the end to this American activities. He will be advancing the American market looking at it in the long term view.”

Park Han Byul, “As compared to myself, Se7en does more aegyo”
Talent Park Han Byul revealed that her boyfriend singer Se7en does more aegyo (act cute) than herself.
She revealed on KBS Entertainment Weekly on 13th June, “I don’t call him by ‘dear’ or ‘darling’ because it is just not my character to do so. So on the phone, I normally call him by ‘yaa’.”
She added, “Instead Se7en has more aegyo than me”. And about their 7 years late reveal of their love relationship, she said, “We are so sorry for acknowledging it. But until now it still doesn’t feel real to me. To be in an interview like this talking about my relationship with Se7en has been my dream.”

Park Han-byul has 3 faces
…and all of them are happy.
Park Han-byul should be! After 7 long years, her man, Se7en has finally owned up and told the world that they are a couple. And now, with a new film, “Yoga School” (with Eugene) out this summer and a major role in a new KBS drama, “Let’s Cha-cha-cha,” timing couldn’t be better.
The Korean media tracked her down at the KBS studios for an interview where she gave out the statement:
“We are sorry to the fans for letting them know late.”
Ahhhh. better now than never.

Se7en finally admits he's taken after 7 years
Se7en and 7? Is that a coincidence?
After denying their relationship for the past 7 years and the last scandal that erupted, Se7en has finally grown the balls to admit that he’s taken. On the 9th, Se7en made a post on his Cyworld home page titled, ‘I’ll tell you everything’. In the post Se7en stated,
"I Choi Dong-wook and actress Park Han-byul have been in a more than friend relationship since our pre-debut days which makes it 7 years since we’ve been together as a couple. I apologize for always having denying and quieting down rumors of our relationship with the excuse of being nothing more than friends. We’ve been classmates ever since our last year in high school and even after our debut we progressed into a couple by supporting each other."
It sure took him a long time to finally admit the truth to his fans. Seems like most of his fans in Korea are taking it well just as we presumed because they have been leaving supportive messages on the pop star’s Cyworld home page. What a lucky girl Park Han-byul is- not only does she have Se7en as her boyfriend but now they can openly date whenever and wherever they want. Congratulations to Se7en for finally handling the situation like a man.
But what man takes 7 years to admit to a relationship? Hopefully his luck won’t run out with his lady love.

Park Han Byul’s painful confession about couple photo with Se7en leaked out
A while back, photo of Park Han Byul and Se7en, said to be supposed couple photo, were leaked out from Park Han Byul’s minihompy.
This came as shocking as the 2 had denied their love relationship all along. Their companies have also insisted that they were just close friends.
Recently on 18th May, Park Han Byul wrote an entry on her minihompy about the incident, saying, “living the life of an entertainer is so tiring…”

Wonder Girls vs. Se7en vs. Utada, who will break through first?
NYC's local news station NY1 has been running a promo for their upcoming Asian Heritage Week segment, in which they will air interviews with the Wonder Girls, Se7en and Utada!
I was able to briefly catch up with Lewis Dodley (Evening Anchor NY1) at Se7en's NYC Single Release Party at Circle Nightclub, where we discussed which Asian artist would break through first in the US Market. I won't reveal where we left off, but take our poll below, who do you think will break through first? Wonder Girls, BoA, Utada, Se7en, or Crown J?!?!
