The two main leads, Lee Minho and Goo Hyesun, for the hit KBS drama, ‘Boys Over Flowers’, have waged war against the winter and filmed a literally ‘cold’ scene in the pool.
In ‘Boys Over Flowers’, Geum Jandi (Goo Hyesun) is a student swimmer at the Shinhwa Academy. F4 leader, Goo Joon Pyo (Lee Minho), is skilled in every sport but swimming. In order to be the perfect sportsman, he must master swimming and rid his fear of the water.
On the 31st, a drama production member commented, “Everyone was having a hard time because of the cold. The actors literally had ice forming on their bodies. They had to thaw off in hot water and then continue shooting in the pool.”
“It’s extremely difficult to fill an entire swimming pool with hot water. Even if we did, the water would cool off immediately.”
Another representative also expressed difficulty in shooting because of the cold. “The party scene we shot at ‘Tongyung’ was one of the hardest scenes to film. It was freezing that day and the actors could only wear thin party outfits. Their faces were frozen so we had to keep that scene short.”
“It was a miracle that they were able to shoot the scene at all. I later found out that their entire body was covered with heat packs underneath the clothings.”
