Kara’s Gyuri Stunned By Japan’s Response!

Posted by Nez
Kara is the first Korean girl group to make it on the Oricon weekly chart by ranking #5 with their debut release for ‘Mister’ on the 17th of August. The leader of the Kara,  Park Gyuri, revealed her feelings after promoting in Japan. On the 19th of August at a broadcast stations waiting room, they were asked numerous questions about their promotion in Japan. Gyuri said,

“I thought it was a joke when I first heard about us on the Oricon Weekly Chart. Actually even now I still cannot believe it. We are not even a Japanese group but yet we are able to receive such love, which also worries us at the same time. Of course we are happy and proud. However, just like how we’re so shocked at the same time we are confused too.”
Still surprised and stunned at the popularity they have gained from all the Japanese fans, Gyuri went on to say “Many said that they can’t find any other groups that look like us. We’ve also heard people like us because they feel like we are just like their sisters or friends next door.”

The girls are glad that they have fans that love them in a foreign place, which means that they will work extra hard and do their best to not let their Korean, and now Japanese, fans down for their upcoming album that will be released in September.

A big well done to the girls.
